22nd - 23rd February RYA Womens UK Team Racing National Championships
West Kirby Sailing Club are delighted to have been selected as hosts for this major event in the UK's team racing calendar, organised jointly by the Royal Yachting Association and the British Universities Sailing Association.
18 teams of 6 women from around the UK will compete in short, fast races in colour matched boats.
Come for a bracing day to West Kirby Marine Lake and enjoy the spectacle of exciting, close quarters racing from ladies at the top of their game and maybe spot a future Olympian?
1st - 3rd May 71st International Wilson Trophy Team Racing Championships
The Wilson Trophy is widely regarded as the premier sailing team racing event in the world, attracting some of the world’s most skilled exponents of the discipline, along with many fleet racing and match racing world champions and Olympians.
The excitement of around 300 races run in rapid succession in colour matched boats manoeuvring within inches of each other provide a truly spectacular experience that will draw in even the most hardened of landlubbers.
There will be a grandstand at the old baths site on South Parade, a stone’s throw from the many cafes, bars and restaurants which West Kirby has to offer. Informative commentary is provided throughout the weekend.

9th May Early May Bank Holiday Sailing Spectacular – RNLI Race Day
Racing and sailing spectacle, organised along the shore at West Kirby Sailing Club. A huge spectacle of boats and different coloured sails, all enjoying sailing in support of the RNLI.

12th - 19th May Radio Controlled Boats World Championships
Expect competitors from around the world, racing hi-tech radio-controlled boats on the West Kirby Marine Lake.
These World Championships will attract up to 138 of the best radio sailors, designers and manufacturers from around the globe looking to test themselves on the open water marine lake venue.
4th - 5th July West Kirby and Dee Sailing Clubs Annual Regatta
This will be the highlight of the sailing year on the Dee Estuary, providing some truly competitive sailing for participants of the sport from throughout the North West; and a spectacular sight for visitors to West Kirby and Heswall.

12th September Annual Charity Dragon Boat Race Extravaganza

7th November Annual Fireworks Display in aid of the RNLI
West Kirby Sailing Club are proud to have run this event every year since 1946, at first to support our local community, eventually to support the RNLI. 2020 will mark the 75th anniversary of this event and promises to be even bigger and better than previous years when we have raised many thousands of pounds for the RNLI. www.wksc.org.uk
