The former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook are among the host of stars lined-up for Wirral’s 25th International Guitar Festival.
Taking place from November 6-28, the festival of musical shows it will be staged at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton, the historic Birkenhead Priory and the Williamson Art Gallery in Oxton.
The three-week celebration of all things guitar will be opened by British rock and roll legend Joe Brown at the Floral Pavilion.
Also appearing are Australian-born Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist John Williams and Paul Carrack; the Sheffield-born Legendary Sheffield-born singer, songwriter and former frontman of Ace, Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics.
Also among the Wirral line-up is Wallasey-based actor, writer and musician Carl Chase will perform the hits of ‘50s country singer Hank Williams during a special event of country and blues at Floral Pavilion Blue Lounge.
Liverpool Guitar Society will perform in John Willams’ after-show concert at the Floral Pavilion on November 14. Its members have been rehearsing as a guitar orchestra, playing special arrangements for up to twelve guitarists.
