Former politician, Warren Ward has been appointed to the new leadership role at Wirral Chamber of Commerce.
Responsible for representing businesses locally, nationally and internationally, this new role comes at an important time for Wirral and the wider Liverpool City Region with political uncertainty becoming a constant theme in the business community.
Warren Ward is an experienced politician, having managed local and parliamentary campaigns for the Labour Party, he also served on Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council as Councillor for Bromborough Ward from 2016 - 2018. He was instrumental in championing small businesses during his term in office. Chairing a local Strategic Regeneration Board and campaigning for government funding following the New Ferry Gas Explosion in 2017.
Warren left the world of party politics for the private sector in 2018. Joining Wirral Chamber of Commerce as an advisor. He was quick to rise through the ranks within the chamber to his most recent role as Head of Policy & Public Affairs, leading the Chamber’s local & national representation strategy including responsibility for Brexit Readiness. Now he has been appointed to the Chamber’s Senior Leadership Team as Director of Policy & International Trade.
Most recently Warren was named within the top 59 inspirational LGBTQ+ people that are making the Liverpool City Region a more inclusive place by the Liverpool Echo in 2019.
