AS TRANSPORT and logistics become increasingly important to UK supply chains, Recruit Right is getting into gear to help keep the North of England moving.
Since creating its Driving Division just over three years ago, the growing need for drivers throughout the region has now become a major focus of expansion for the business in the supply of drivers across all its commercial and industrial sectors.
Heading up the recruitment operation is Recruit Right’s Manchester branch manager Justina Bobmanuel who said: “Successful logistics operations are crucial to driving the regional economy.
“Greater demands for efficiency while providing exceptional levels of customer service all put the emphasis on highly-skilled drivers to deliver the goods. And as the region further develops and grows in economic stature, so the requirement for specialist driving skills becomes even more vital.”
Using her many years' experience working with national “blue chip” clients and local haulage firms to match specialist skilled drivers to clients, Justina leads her team to provide drivers with specific skills in general haulage, refrigeration, waste management and containers.
In addition to supplying LGV (CE), LGV (C) and 7.5-tonne drivers, skilled drivers of HIAB, ADR, tankers, trampers and shunters are currently being recruited from the Manchester centre for jobs throughout the region.
Recruit Right, which has its headquarters in Birkenhead, originally set up its Driving Division to support clients using agency drivers on Merseyside.
Director Helen Cornah explained: “Such was the success of the move that a programme of expansion for the division took the operation further into the North of England. Now an increasing need for agency drivers of all disciplines is putting us on the road to the even greater growth of our Manchester base.
“We are at the heart of an area that’s massively shaping the future of the national economy – in fact, the Greater Manchester metropolitan boroughs of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan represent the largest city region economy outside London.
“All this adds up to huge confidence in the North, a factor which marks it out as an investment and jobs hot spot.
“Our Driving Division expansion here is yet another ambitious and exciting programme for us which can only strengthen our position in industrial and commercial recruitment.”
As well as its Manchester base at Lowry Mill, Birkenhead-headquartered Recruit Right also has offices in Blackburn and Wrexham. At the end of 2019, the business announced record figures of filling vacancies throughout the North West, placing more than 2,500 people in work with a further 980 temporary workers being given permanent posts.
A rising demand for permanent and temporary jobs in Lancashire also prompted a move by the company to expand its Blackburn base by opening a larger, new office there as well as seeing its recruitment operations on Merseyside and in Wrexham also experiencing an upturn in business.
Helen added: “As well has supplying a highly-skilled workforce, the focus throughout all our centres is also on supporting and developing economic growth in the local communities. Our vision to recruit local labour is central to a skills and employability drive linked to the region’s prosperity.”
