Wirral Chamber of Commerce celebrated the arrival of six new businesses to the Pacific Road Business Hub in Birkenhead last night.
The business centre, which is now approaching full capacity, has become the business home for Sterling Shipping Agencies, ZNC, BodyTime, Punch Technology, Owen Drew Luxury Candles and The Johnson Foundation.
Having undergone a £1m refurbishment programme starting in 2015, Pacific Road Business Hub has become a popular location for a diverse range of businesses, all attracted by the offer of its flexible office suites, hot-desking facilities and its Sheds initiative.
At a launch ceremony last night, Paula Basnett, CEO at Wirral Chamber of Commerce, introduced the new tenants to over 100 leading business people and guests from both the Chamber membership and Wirral business community. She said, “We are very pleased to welcome the new investments into Pacific Road, they now join thirteen other business enterprises which are already successfully operating from this unique centre in Birkenhead.
She added, “The success and the opportunities at Pacific Road has clearly been recognised within business circles due to its excellent transport links, innovative design, flexible floor space, competitive rents and an on-site bistro facility.”
Sterling Shipping Agencies offers links between international ship owners, oil companies and docks along the Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal. Its team collectively has over 100 years sectoral experience and enjoys a global customer base. We fell in love with Pacific Road as soon as we saw it and just had to set up here. Wirral Chamber of Commerce has been extremely flexible and made setting-up for us really simple.”
Attracted by Wirral’s excellent connectivity and skills base, specialist custom PC builder, Punch Technology, supplies creative customers such as photographers, graphic designers, videographers and gamers. Marketing Manager, Dave Ayling said, “Technology is moving so quickly that people need to make sure their kit can keep up. Our customers don’t need to be tech savvy, they tell us what they want their machine to do and we build it for them. We chose Pacific Road Business Hub as it reflects our customer’s creativity and it is an interesting environment to work in.”
Set up by Park Group founder, Peter Johnson, The Johnson Foundation has supported national and regional charities for 31 years involved in health, education and in relieving poverty. Peter Johnson, Chair of The Johnson Foundation, said, “Now our office and team is in place we can be much more strategic in the work we do. Our close ties with Wirral Chamber of Commerce made the move possible and this close working relationship will help in bring businesses and people in the community together more effectively.”
ZNC is a well-established digital lead generation agency, connecting businesses across the English-speaking world with potential customers through branding, web design, PPC advertising, SEO, email promotion and social media. The new companies to the Pacific Road Business Hub now join the other thirteen existing organisation within the location, including Modpack, Flawless Cosmetics, Webthinking Ltd, KGB Musical Instruments, Moving Soon, International Translations, Number 4 Bistro, Progress to Excellence Group, Crave Interior Design, Vehicle Charging Solutions Ltd, Community Cohesion, Northern Wolf, Finsa UK, and the Birkenhead BID.
