Keeping Birkenhead safe and secure is a key objective that the Birkenhead BID initiative works in partnership Merseyside Police, Wirral Council and delivery partners such as Wirral Ways to Recovery and YMCA Wirral to ensure collectively across the BID area it is operating a joined-up approach tackling challenging situations such as anti-social behaviour.
Birkenhead is no different to any other busy urban area and relatively is a safe place for trade and business. There will always be challenges, however, in low-level crime and anti-social behaviour influences the perception of the town- Birkenhead BID looks to tackle these issues with the forthcoming launch of the Birkenhead BID Commercial Safety Partnership [BBCSP].
The BBCSP online initiative will enable all businesses across the BID area to access and share information regarding anti-social behaviour and low-level crime in order to deter such activities from the community.
In moving forward, Birkenhead BID has two dedicated members of the team, Arfon Williams and Ian Davies, as the BID Commercial Safety Coordinators actively engaging and supporting businesses in order to reduce anti-social behaviour and low-level crime. From launching this Database and Intranet for Safer Communities [DISC], Birkenhead BID is reinforcing and supporting the importance of making Birkenhead a safer place for business, residents and visitors.
Gemma Nichols, Head of Birkenhead BID said, "By re-instating the Database and Intranet for Safer Communities [DISC], the Birkenhead BID Commercial Safety Partners is a key component to ensure we are able to support all of our businesses with any challenges they face. Having a dedicated team in place to deliver this and support the businesses on a day-to-day basis is paramount. Equally we need to ensure that businesses are working together and with the team enabling us to work collectively across the BID area to tackle the challenges that we face within our community together."
The Birkenhead BID Commercial Safety Partnership official launch for the will take place on Thursday 27 September when all key stakeholders across the Birkenhead area join in supporting and promoting this initiative within our business and residential community.
