Tell us about your company?
We help companies make more money by recruiting the right staff for them. We supply permanent or fixed term contract staff in the fields of accounts, administration, customer services, executive support, HR,IT, legal, marketing, sales and secretarial. We supply “employers of choice” businesses across Wirral, Liverpool and Chester. I work with two colleagues, Julie Mason (left),- "I bring a strong background in recruitment and facilities management, covering all aspects of admin, staffing, HR, sales, marketing and networking" and Natalie Collins (right), "I set myself high standards and want to impress from Day 1 – I am determined to help take the business to the next level and make it the first port of call for all recruitment needs."
What is your background
23 years recruitment experience, it’s a job that I love and I am now building a great team of consultants who recruit the “Joanne Finnerty” way!
If you could suggest one thing to Government to help business growth what would it be?
Have more choice of funded office space available to brand new business so they can work together to help and support each other - it can be quite lonely in your first 1-2 years. And if I could have one more, give SME’s money to recruit staff through recruitment agencies at a reduced/part funded fee – not just at apprentice stage. I regularly speak to companies that need to expand but to expand, they need to recruit the right staff and take a hit on the wages and they don’t always have the skills and experience to recruit effectively.

What do you do to relax away from the office
Long, long walks and this year I’m going to play more golf and join a club/society
What hobbies do you have?
Watching all sports, Tranmere Rovers supporter, St Helens Rugby League supporter, attending big sporting events. I like sport and should have been born a boy!
What one piece of advice would you give an 18 years old – Joanne Finnerty - starting out today?
Start your business earlier than you want to, just do it, take the risk earlier.
Any final thoughts?
Business networking is crucial to any business, remain visible and deliver. Thanks to Wirral Chamber of Commerce for all their support!
