What is your background?
I have spent over 12 years in sales, with over 70% of that time invested in hardware and software solutions. I have great experience working for large corporate entities such as GlaxoSmithKline and Sharp UK, which puts me in good stead dealing from blue collar up to boardroom level when discussing projects.
"We have industry partnerships in place that enable us to provide software solutions to meet any document management requirement."
Where do you want the company to be in two years time?
Cull has steadily grown over the last five years, however, this year we are having a real growth spurt due to a new internal drive. Our staff are more motivated than ever, and in two years time we’re aiming to break the £1m turnover barrier.
If you could suggest one thing to Government to help business growth what would it be?
I believe the key is education. “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach him to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime.” It’s all too easy to ask for freebies, but without understanding the benefits of why you need to do what’s necessary for business growth, you’ll never truly grown your business organically. I would suggest that Government host more seminars and lectures aimed at new starts and SME’s, showcasing the pitfalls and growth points of various businesses – and how best to invest wisely in future markets without the risk typically attached.
What do you do to relax away from the office?
I enjoy walking my dog Yuna, a German Shepherd/Lurcher cross, eating out and socialising. I also play football 3-4 times a week to keep myself fit and healthy, and I am a keen Liverpool supporter. I also enjoy reading, particularly the American author, Stephen King.
What hobbies do you have?
I am still a big kid at heart, and enjoy playing on the Playstation with my friends when time allows. I am also a keen golfer, working hard to reduce the handicap by the end of the year!
Have you any hidden talents?
When I was 17 I was in the third best Counter-Strike (PC Game) clan in Europe, and competed in international tournaments in the top European league. I can also rap almost all Eminem songs, including the 100 words in 13 seconds part of ‘Rap God’. That’s only for special occasions though (and after a drink or two!)
What one piece of advice would you give an 18 years old Jamie Lloyd starting out today?
Don’t stop playing e-sports – they will get popular and you can get paid for playing them. There are YouTube millionaires Jamie!
Any final thoughts?
