Tell us about your company

White Space Creative Design provides clean, professional and effective graphic and web design services to SMEs across Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside. Graphic design services include the design and organisation of print (if applicable) of logo and branding identity, business stationery, marketing materials and promotional products, amongst many other items.

Web design projects are managed from set up to launch, with White Space Creative Design building each site, using WordPress, to the client’s brief.   Also on offer is writing content, sourcing images and designing graphics for websites, as well as adding extra functionality.

New services for 2015 include digital marketing and social media management.  Digital marketing involves the design, distribution and review of e-newsletters and e-bulletins/e-shots, as well as researching, writing and managing content for blog posts, articles, interviews, guest posts and showcases.  Social media account management encompasses updates of client business and industry news and developments, in addition to executing and reviewing campaigns, competitions and giveaways.

Whilst all of the services listed above are to client briefs, digital illustration is my own creative outlet!  With stockists across the country retailing my greeting card, stationery and gift collections, I am hoping to keep expanding in this field.  Customers can also purchase products from my Etsy shop

Where do you want the business to be in two years?

I see white space creative design continuing to help small businesses, charities and community groups with graphic and web design services - making a difference - and developing more retainer contracts.  I’d like the brand white space creative design to be known and recognised as reliable, effective and fun across Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside.

For 2015, white space creative design has started to offer digital marketing and social media management, I see these services developing into main income streams to establish white space as a creative agency-style organisation.

I currently work from home so one major goal is to have some studio space, where I can work on my graphic and web design projects, display some of my illustration work and hold meetings with clients and business contacts.

What is your background?

I obtained my Business degree in 2006 from Chester and went straight into Human Resources.  After a couple of years in this industry, I realised this was not for me!  I quickly repositioned myself in the Marketing and Communications field, where I held positions at Grosvenor Estate and Grosvenor Garden Centre, as well as Community Action Wirral.  In both of these roles, amongst others, graphic and web design played a massive part and that’s where my heart lies so after being employed in creative positions, I started my own company providing graphic and web design services to small to medium sized enterprises across Wirral, Cheshire and Merseyside.

If you could suggest one thing to Government to help business growth what would it be?

I’d love to see some funded office or studio space for business owners to ‘go to work’.   It would be great for business owners to have a hub where we can speak with our peers in an informal way, either just to make connections or to seek friendly advice and support.

What do you do to relax away from the office?

I love designing!  So, in my time away from working, I design digital illustrations for my greeting card, gift and stationery collections  - available from my Etsy shop

I really enjoy baking (and spend a fair amount of time cleaning up the occasional kitchen disaster…although I don’t enjoy that quite so much). Cupcakes, cookies and fudge are my specialities – and they don’t taste half bad either.  I’d love to have a little unit one day with a design shop on one side and a tea room on the other.

Have you any hidden talents that we don’t know about?

I’m not sure if this counts… but I am an excellent sleeper.  I can sleep almost anywhere.  It’s a specialist skill of mine…

What one piece of advice would you give an 18 years old Charlotte starting out today?

I would say be brave and be confident.  If there’s something you want, work hard and go and get it.

Any final thoughts?

I’m so excited to be part of the Chamber – and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!  If any Chamber Members require any graphic or web design (or know of anyone else who does), please don’t hesitate to contact me:  For more information about my services please visit:
