Supporting Young People
Wirral Chamber is passionate and committed to supporting our young people to flourish. Youth unemployment is increasing, Wirral Chamber is committed to reducing the skills gap and tackling this issue. In order to do this, we work with schools, universities, businesses and influencers to help drive change. We also have our own in-house career opportunities developed specifically for young people to gain practical skills and valuable experience to improve their job prospects.
Wirral Chamber of Commerce Business Internship Programme
Our 4-week summer internship programme is one of the ways we aim to support our youth into employment.
Our interns gain invaluable experience of life in a thriving business environment, while also providing the Chamber with new ideas to keep us improving as an organisation.
Interns gain exposure and experience in several key areas:
- Events
- Customer service
- International business
- Policy, public affairs, media and research
- Marketing
- Business Support
Remuneration: Internships are paid placements; the level of remuneration is the national minimum wage. (Determined by the age of the intern).
Duration: Internships last for four weeks based on 37.5 hours per week.
Format:
First two weeks |
Work experience working in teams across the Chamber |
Final two weeks |
Project agreed by relevant Director of Service depending on interest and subject of studies |
Eligibility: You must be a student doing your internship as part of your UK-based higher or further education course.
